R58 Mini 3 piece cargo net: mod to get the side pieces to work
so back when I got my mini coupe, i had purchased a ton of accessories prior to receiving my baby. one item i purchased was the 3 piece cargo net made by Mini for the R56 series. once i received my coupe, i realized that our coupe's are missing the proper top, side hooks in our boot thus making our side nets useless.
finally after some procrastinating, i modded my boot so i could actually use the side nets.
basically there's a screw spot on the sides right below where the back window shelf goes in (the area closest to the boot lid) that has a small screw in it. It almost looks like a knub/hook should be here but for some reason there isn't.

i then took two spare PS3 analog controller knubs, dremeled a hole in them and found a nice spacer and long screw and put that in the spot.

finally, i can now use the side cargo nets! took about 10 mins to do; biggest thing is finding an appropriate spacer (i am a total computer geek so i have tons of random parts/screws/pieces around).
