I purchased new seats for my R50 that were supposed to be leather but how do you tell from the leatherette?

 

Post a pic and we can identify them for you.

You can also do some google image searches, but there are some differences by year. From what I remember from my 2003 R50, the leatherette seats had little raised bumps on them. My 2003 R53's leather was smooth.

 

Here's a pic of the leatherette from my R50. I was trying to find a pic of my R53 but haven't been able to find one.

 

Actually, I think both of them are leatherette but will post in a little while.

Leatherette. Leather seats have a lumbar adjustment **** on the side, and your photos do not show it.

 

Thanks for the info. I ran out and checked, no lumbar adjustment.
