Navigation & Audio USB Port
USB Port
Just finished a cross country trip in my wife's 2012 MCS. I copied my music onto a 16GB thumb drive for the trip. Needless to say, I had plenty of time to futz with it. The user manual doesn't cover this very well. If I play music from within a sub-folder, the random function works within that folder. When I move it up a folder (to root), it continues to play random files from the sub-folder. How the heck can I get it to play random files from all folders? The manual says it stores information from 4 different thumb drives. What happens if I plug in a fifth one?
Did you ever get this figured out? I'm curious to know the answer, too.
I love using a flash drive instead of the y-cable and iPod, but I'm having a tough time getting it working exactly the way I think it should. Anyone know where to find better documentation?

Naw, since it's my wife's mini, I don't drive it often. I did discover that it will play just about any kind of audio file I throw at it (mp3, wav, etc). Sixteen GB holds a lot of music, I like just plugging in the drive and leaving it. When I feel like messing with it again, I might try doing away with the folders and just have all the music in root and try changing the name of the drive. Am thinking it will relearn the drive and place all the songs in it's respective genre, artist, etc. and might fix the 'random' bug.
Like you, hope someone has more info as the manual really stinks on this subject..
