£17,595 or

$31,486.14 OUCH!

only 11K more than the Cooper S. I hope they make an adjustment for the exchange rate or they won't sell many over here.

I'm not worried as the prices in the UK are really high when I was there last August.
Here is some data from the May 2003 UK MINI brochure
Recommended Price
5 speed manual MC £11.300
CVT £12,280
MCS £14,165
Using the exchange rate of $1.79 per £ we get from the above example we get
5 speed manual MC $20,221
CVT $21,975
MCS $25,348

Compared to US MSRP from 2003
5 speed manual MC $16,999
MCS $19,999

From this I would expect the US cabrio MCS to be near $24,500-$27,000 (with options).

Since I have one on order I'll chime in. What my dealer has told me and from what I gathered from the rep at the DRagon this year the price is to be $4000 or $5000 higher than the normal Cooper or S. So spec one out on the web and then add that amount to it. Hope this helps.

I believe UK prices *include* 17.5% tax, where US prices have no tax included ...

Jeff at MINIUSA was saying at The Dragon that the US Cabrio will be approximately $4,000 more than a comparibly equipped MINI. So basically, the Cabrio is a $4k option.
