Help on removing R50 Door?

Hey everyone,

Recently my lovely girlfriend decided to back her car into the side of my 2005 Mini cooper. Luckily she only hit the drivers side door with the corner of her bumper so the door is the only damaged area. I was originally going to just take it to a body shop and have them sort it out but upon checking a local shop they happen to have a dead 05 mini they are parting out and are asking for 150 for the entire door (minus the interior plastic panel and handles) so I figured it would be much cheaper since the paint on the door is the same color and in great condition.

My only worry is if there are any hidden difficulties in removing the whole door and getting all of the wiring reconnected or if it is pretty simple. I couldn't find anything on a while of searching the internet so I am not sure how easy it is going to be.... Any info on it would be great.

I already have become quite practiced with removing all of the interior trim off of the door with all of my power window issues so at least I know popping that off my door and onto the new door will be quick.

A few bolts, plugs and clips and you are good to go. The hardest part will be realigning the new one. That will take 2 people unless you have a door hanger. I think you will be fine with some patients.
