I have a quick question regarding the Racing Cycle Holder and the Fork Mounted bike rack. From the MINI site, both appear to be identical, but the Racing Cycle Holder is only available for the Countryman & Paceman and the Fork Mounted Bike Rack is available for the Hardtop (which I have).

My issue is, I just had my roof/hood repaired due to a bike rack/garage accident that totaled my bike, the racks and did some roof damage. The body shop that made the repairs also had the rack and bike mounting system replaced through insurance, but it appears they replaced my original Fork Mounted Bike Rack with the Racing Cycle Holder - because it's just a little too long and prevents me from opening my trunk. Does anyone know if the Form Mounted Bike Rack is shorter than the Racing Cycle holder? I'm debating whether it's worth my time to call the body shop and have them replace it or if I should just cut it shorter.
