Dis-assemble factory crossbars for paint

I want to paint the mini crossbars, but I cannot figure out how to take the end caps/base mounts off. Has anyone done this with theirs and have any advice?

Thanks.

Yeah, it's easy once you know how. There are two pins that hold the end pieces on. Just take a flathead screwdriver and push them out from the inside. Then grab them with a pair of pliers and pull them out.

yes, they're simple to put back together as well. don't pull the pins all the way out when you disassemble them and it makes it even easier to put back together.
