Why only two jack pads?

I've got an '09 MCS which has been out of the factory service period for quite some time now and ready to start doing some at home work on it. I've gotten it up on a hydraulic lift for a a front brake job, no issues, but I'm wondering why it only has two jack pads / lifting blocks. I've found the pelican parts tech article on jack stands:

http://www.pelicanparts.com/techarti..._Your_MINI.htm

And the vehicle lifted obviously has all four lifting blocks at all four corners. I only have two located at the rear. I'm going to buy two more lifting blocks and pop the into the jack points, but I'm wondering why I only have two! Was it a factory mistake? Or is this how the MCS is supposed to be because of the run flats MINI throws on them.

The car comes from the factory with 4 jack pads. It's even shown in the Owner's Manual (section titled "Jacking up your car"). It's not unusual for the pads to fall off, especially in the front. You should see holes underneath where the missing ones would fit.

They can sometimes get knocked off. There should be 4 just like rkw stated, one on each corner on the side skirts area. Find the front holes and line up the new one and push the pin through.

The earlier R56 cars lose these all the time. It's not uncommon for them to come off. I've heard they have redesigned them so that they stay on better. Just pick two new ones up and put them where they go in the front of the car. FWIW the ones on my '10 JCW have never come out.
