Clearing code P2097 in Greater Los Angeles area
Hi, I've been a regular reader on this forum, and I am looking for some help from fellow Mini Cooper owners.
My 2003 Mini is due a smoke check this year and I have the Service Engine light on which is the P2097 code. After some reading, it looks like I need to take it to the dealership to clear it because it is a sensor issue. But it does not require replacement of the sensor. However, I know the dealership is going to try to get me to replace the sensor.
I am wondering if anyone in greater L.A. has the software to clear the code so I can get my smoke check done. Any help would be deeply appreciated.
Thanks.

One warning...
Just clearing a code then testing WILL result in a failure....the car must then be driven a few days..(actually a complete "drive cycle"...as programmed in the computer..usually a couple of short trips)....no code...for the computer to Report "ready to test".....testing too soon is a failure.
You can clear the code very easily...a $40-60 odb2 reader/scanner will do it.....
