2003 mini - outer air vents push more air than two middle ones?

Hi,

I have owned my used mini 2003 for about 9 months. I guess I didn't notice this until it got ghastly hot, and was curious if others have the same experience with their minis.

The two outer vents (the ones closest to each door) blow out air much more forcefully than the two in the center. I know I can close the vents off to make more air pressure come out of the open ones, but I just wondered if this is normal.

I have had my cabin filter changed several times.

Thanks for the help!

Monica

My 02 and my 03 had sub-par AC systems compared to other cars I've ever owned. I just like everything else about the car so much that I've overlooked it.

Thanks for your reply, tremperj.

The car I had prior to the mini was a 1996 Geo Metro that I finally retired last year because of a stalling problem that could not get corrected. However, it did make it over 200,000 miles.

The vents were really puny on that car and since the car only had 3cylinders, you had to decide whether you wanted to drive or have the air conditioning on. Ha ha.

Compared to the air conditioning in that car, this is nothing!
