Surging on Cruise Control

2002 R50 140K miles 5speed. GREAT CAR! just recently started surging with cruise control on. It's not subtle but neither is it unbearable. I drive 16 miles to work one way mostly at 75 mph (texas speed limit) and use my cruise daily. It was very smooth and consistent but now it's surging. Not enough to see it on the tach or speedometer but I can feel it. So can passengers and other drivers. It's a very steady rhythm but only with the cruise on. No problem when foot controlled. Any of you folks seen anything like this?

Nope

Still doing it. Worse at higher speeds like 80. Any ideas?
