16x8 or 17x8 friendly tires with 1.2 inch drop

I apologize if this has been covered many times but i cant find my answer yet. I would like to run 16x8 wheels but my car has a 1.2 inch drop. I also want to run a fatter tire to help the bumps. Can anyone confirm if i can run either of these tires.
16x8 wheel 20 offset with 225 50 16 tire
16x8 wheel 20 offset with 225 45 16 tire
16x8 wheel 20 offset with 215 50 16 tire
16x8 wheel 20 offset with 215 45 16 tire

17x8 wheel 20 offset with 225 50 17 tire
17x8 wheel 20 offset with 225 45 17 tire
17x8 wheel 20 offset with 215 50 17 tire
17x8 wheel 20 offset with 215 45 17 tire

My mini has tein s tech springs that are about 1.2 inch drop. Can someone please clarify these options for me? just say yes or no. I want to make sure i have zero rubbing issues or turning issues. I want to get the rota grid.

I can give you a starting point with mine.
17x7 (don't remember the offset) 215/45 & H-Sport Springs give me an occasional rub on the rear inner liner when there's a good bounce. (not bump for some reason)
So I would think 50's would be out w/ a 17 unless the 215's would be stretched enough to slightly shrink the overall diameter.

Most likely it's my offset, wish I could remember it now, but it's very minor, actually wore away about 1/2" of the edge of the inner liner so isn't so bad now, but I do know it's just a hair away from touching the arch on the inside when it tucks.

to be honest i rather get a 16 inch wheel so i can fit a 50 tire on it. but i just dont know if ill have an issue with a 8 inch width of the wheel. i want to run 16x8 20 offset with 225 50 16 if it doesnt fit i want to know if 215 50 16 will fit.

17x7 or 17x7.5 (+40 or+45 offset) with 215/45-17 tires.

This has NM Engineering RSe05 17x7.5 wheels (+45 offset) with 215/45-17 tires. Drop (1.4") is with H&R springs.
