Need help adding a subwoofer to 2007 mini cooper!
Okay so here it goes. First off, I am not the best at audio wiring... so bare with me.
I previously owned a 2005 jeep wrangler. Had my 2 12" subs hooked up perfectly. I did the wireing, installing the line output converter, spliced wires myself, and had it all up and running beautifully.. Now I have a new car (2007 mini cooper s) and im confused on a few levels.
Firstly, my 2 12" in the box fit perfectly in the trunk so that is where I will be hooking them up.
I took off the side panels of the mini in the trunk and found wiring there. I orginally hoped maybe I could put the line output converter right there and just basicvallly avoid having the take apart the factory head unity because I heard that was a real pain.
My few questions are this:
Is my above theory possible? Just splicing into the wires that are running in my trunk on either the left or right side?
If so, What are the correct wires I need to splice? There is only 192838923 to choose from it seems. I have blown up google trying to find a 2007 mini cooper S audio wiring diagram but I havn't found anything that matched the funky colors in my mini. theres ones with brown and black and allll these different types of combinations. I just need to know what are the positive and negs for audio.
Please respond if u can help at all. I have tried and failed putting this ****ers in a few times, and im just getting frustrated at this point. thanks in advance!!

I have 2 12 inch in the trunk too. Don't splice from the rear wires, those speakers don't get any bass at all. There is a thread called "Channel Swap" or something like that and it has instructions. You want to take out the driver side lower panel next to the door. By your foot, there is a black connector with a white one underneath it. Twist it and pull out. Then disconnect the white one. You want to splice into the wires going to either of the front speakers, not the rear. Heres the thread https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...nnel-swap.html Read the first post
