Just got to drive an 05’ Mini with 1,550 miles on it....
A guy I work with has an 05’ Mini Cooper. It’s his wife’s, and she’s only put 1,550 miles on the thing since they bought it. I got a chance to drive it around today a little.
….and there were a few things that I learned.
1. The stock suspension on the mini’s ride pretty good if they have low miles on them. Probably as good as the Koni FSD’s on my MCS.It was a lot smoother, and softer than my suspension setup.
2. I’m glad I went with the S….the non-S coopers are severely lacking in power. It was a slug.....
3. My MCS feels pretty rough, loose, and overall not as "refined"…I guess that’s what 100,000 miles will do to a car.
4. The stock factory exhaust on a “justa-cooper” is just as loud (or louder) than the exhaust on my JCW MCS.
It was fun to drive a mini with such low miles on it, but I would never trade it for my 03' JCW MCS with 100,000 miles on it. It feels a little more rough and raw, but that’s the point. The huge amount of power difference more than makes up for it

Don't forget - the first gen cars had the Chrysler/Peugeot engines in them, and they were definitely underpowered. The second gen cars have more power. Definitely less than the S, but much better than the first gen.
111ft lb v. 114
The Peugeot engine was used in the 2nd gen.
Am I reading that right ?
8 years, 52 weeks in a year equals 416 weeks.
that means she was driving that MINI less than 4 miles a WEEK.
Unless she became paralyzed a month after buying that MINI, she should be ashamed of herself. Damn.
