Hey guys, I figured that my first post ought to be about a light mod so I have a question. I just picked up a '04 MCS in IB with a white roof and mirrors. I'd like to remove my bonnet stripes but I'm not to excited about the amount of fade I may show off. I have no idea whether or not this is the original set of stripes but they are in really good shape and the car has a full service history from the dealer so I have no doubt that the PO would have replaced them if the started to look rough. The paint showed the usual 9 years worth of scratches but was well waxed (atleast when I bought it). Any tips before I go and rip them off?

 

I'd be prepared for ghost stripes, maybe have a replacement set of stripes standing by just in case. A hair dryer will soften them up enough for them to peel right off.

I have a 2004 Indy blue cooper S and the first thing I did was remove the stripes, came off easily and after a bit of polish there is no ghosting. you would never know they were ever there
