R50/53 Any negatives to removing the hood padding?
Since it is for sound and heat....
only negatives might be a bit more sound....
Guess you could shorten the life of the paint if it gets too hot, but i have yet to see a gen1 with burnt paint....
guess it does not weigh too much....any reason to remove other than to save 3-5 pounds?

My 2013 MCS roadster was ordered without stripes, so I didn't even get the blanket to start with. Apparently, they're only putting it in cars with factory stripes these days.
That seems to indicate to me that it's not really necessary, other than to keep from cooking the vinyl graphics on the hood.
