Tranny flush? Dealer?

If any other MCSa owners have performed a tranny flush, where did you get it done? Are any dealers doing this or is it all DIY?

Bonus question, I get my 06 serviced tomorrow. It has 83K miles on it and I think it has only had oil services for the last three years. What kind of maintenance should be on the list?

Dealer would do it, bit not sure you Need it...

86k. Well, let's see:
Belt
Plugs
Air filter
Cabin AC filter
Have them check your crank pulley
All suspension bushings (check)

Not done often, but a new fuel filter (mini claims its a lifetime part. F that I said, got wm down to $100 for the filter change. It was black)

Brake fluid flush (I'd do that before the tranny flush. I didn't believe mini when they said it'd be a good idea to do the brake flush, but did it anyway. Wow! It was like having new brakes after the flush!)

Check for any oil leaks
You could have them do a "smoke test" for vacuum leaks as well. Sometimes the IC boots go out, or leak slightly.

Try a search for MINI Cooper Service 1 and 2. They don't necessarily say to do x service at x number miles. Instead it's "Oil Change, Service 1, Oil Change, Service 2, repeat". Supposedly the car decides when the next service is needed based on your driving habits and conditions. When you first turn the key to On, it will tell you how many miles till your next service, then after a moment it will display your odometer. It starts with something ridiculous like 12,000 miles between oil changes!

Anyway, you'll be able to find the recommended items to inspect or service with a simple search.

At that age, likely your right front motor mount would need replaced if it never has been. Probably Lower Control Arm Bushings as well.

Definitely get the serpentine belt changed. I've heard people say those are only good for about 60k miles.

Be sure they check the operation of your power-steering fan as they too are known to fail.

If your auto trans is a CVT, then changing the fluid is a regular part of Inspection #1, I think.

Hope that helps.

Thanks for the info. It is really helpful!

(I am just about to google serpentine belt)

I have read the service I and II stuff, but I have not had a service II yet. It seems pretty late. It must be time for spark plugs at the least.

I had the front motor mount done last year, but that still leaves a few things for them to look at.

((Last year I also had an oil pan leak and another oil leak which I declined having fixed. It must be really bad as my garage floor is squeaky clean and my dip-stick has not shown any oil loss at all over 13 months)).
