Spare for Clubman?

So, now that I've ditched my run-flats, I'm wondering what the best, reasonably priced option is for a spare that will fit in the Clubman's spare well.

I'd just go with a patch kit and compressor, but as soon as you drive out of Las Vegas, you're in the middle of nowhere. I don't want to be stuck 100 miles from civilisation in the desert with a flat.

Any recommendations?

Many online vendors have great prices for "spare wheel". I went a really cheap route... Got the rim on discount at the dealer. And then got the rubber off the $10 spare wheel for Honda I got on KIJIJI... What I like even more, rubber is a bit beefier than stock but still fits mounted and stored in the boot floor. Just remember: if you have a flat on front wheel, you have to put your spare on rear and move the rear wheel front...

I believe you can use the mini-spare from a Honda Civic. $50 (or less) from a salvage yard.

Or you can get the whole kit and kaboodle from Detroit Tuned for about $200 (shipped).

I got the whole kit from detroittuned.com and it was great investment - You can view the photos in my gallery.

Donut spares are fine. They do have a limitation on how fast & more importantly how far you can drive on them. We use a donut spare, but when we travel far from home I put one of our snow tires in the boot.

Got mine from the junkyard for $7!!! Came out of the trunk of a Mitsubishi Mirage 93-02. Its the rear or my Clubman S, so if I get a flat on the front, I'm gonna have to swap out a rear wheel and put the donut on the back.
