How do I find the date on my R56?
I couldn't find this using the search feature....but I am sure that it's somewhere. At least I tried.
Anyway, I am receiving a service "warning" with the date of 8/2014. Obviously, my car must have the incorrect date set somewhere to be throwing a service reminder for a date that over a year away.
Anyway, How do I read the current date setting in the ecu's config?

you can use the onboard computer (thru the left turn stalk)
to determine what counter is activating

Check your VIN #, go to www.realoem.com, there is a place to enter the last 7-digits of your VIN, this will only tell you the production MM/YY of your MINI.
I've noticed on mine though the 5-digits after the "WMWMF..." tells me the Production Date, which is the day she rolled off the production line.
