2013 Countryman front cup holders changed

Pardon me if this has been noted already, but I didn't find it discussed when I searched.....

I went to the clearance event at Schomp Mini here in Denver on Friday and noticed that MINI must be listening to those people who have complained about the grippers inside the cup holders in the front of the Countryman. Those little spring loaded grippers inside the holder have been replaced with pieces of what look like black rubber flaps. They still grab hold of the cup, but have no penetrating force. It should make those of you that have issues with foam cups happier....provided you are buying a 2013.

we just traded in our 2011 R60 for a 2013 and the cupholder are in fact bigger in circumference. Nice little change!

Good news on the rubber flaps. My wife's R55 has those and they work perfectly. The spring loaded ones are terrible.

Yes, the 2013s now fit a Snapple bottle, whereas the 2011-2012s do not. :(
