I got the little Mini Booklet in the mail a few days ago, and I was showin it to my mom, all the cool little features, the toggle switches the awesome FUN-ODOMETER in the middle of the dash and every other cool thing...and NOT-TOO-SURPRISINGLY...my mom wants one now too. She's currently got a 99 626 and she's heavily pondering trading it in for a 02 CR/W MCS w/Bonnet Stripes. MAAAN wouldn't that be cool!

 

My mother was initially nervous about me buying one, but when I took her for a spin around her condo complex she loved it. Her favorite feature is the big speedo in the middle. "Now, I don't have to crane my neck to see how fast you're driving."

I rarely look at the speedo because of its placement, and I'm always surprised to see how fast I'm going.

 

LOLOL!! My dad fell in love with mine, so has my mom...in fact...everyone I know wants one now!! I'm telling ya...MiniMania is very contagious!! :smile:

 

When I did my test drive I took the MIni by my parent's house.....they live near the dealership. My mom was like "WHAT they HECK is that thing!?" and she said she hated it and that it was totally unsafe.

3 months later I go by her house in my new Mini (the day I got her!) and we go out for a spin and to pick up my grandmother to take her out, too.....

We had barely gotten a mile from the house when my mom asked "Ok so when can I drive it?"

The reason I even started to look at the mini is because my little sister is looking for a car and she really likes classics, so I thought she might be into it. But then I fell in love and was reluctant to show her. When I did finally show the fam., my sister didn't like it(the minute she saw it, all she could say was 'too round!') but my mother also sorta fell for it, and when she realized how much I was in love with it, she just turned to me and said, "Why don't you get it!" Totally one of those light -bulb-switch-on moments.

My mom is funny though, she's always been an SUV-er. She really does like the mini, but when ever we see one in person, she always has to shout out, "It's just so close to the ground!" and then ask me if I'm sure i'll be ok with that.

 

When I took mine home, my Grandfather was totally impressed with it, and he is strictly an SUV man. Now, he is even trying to convince my soon-to-be 80 year old grandmother (bless her soul!) to get one!! I think that would just be so cute!

 

My father-in-law was complaining that I should have got it a year ago. This is because my Mother-in-law Loves it, but she just bought a $50,000 merc SUV. Could have saved him $30,000!
