I just took delivery of my Mini Countryman S today. I love it, but I feel like the one I test drove at the dealership accelerated quicker and smoother. Am I losing my mind or what. Could it be the gas they put in it. Maybe they filled it up with 87. Let me know your thoughts. Thanks.

 

It could be that my mind is playing tricks on me but... My CMS feels faster now with 13,000 miles that when it was new. My mom has a CMS exactly like mine, same options, same wheels but hers has 3,700 miles and it feels slower, kinda like the engine is tighter/not fully broken in yet. Also, once my wife filled my car with 87 and it definitely felt sluggish. I say fill it with 91/93 and wait a little if the difference between yours and the dealer's is not that much. If you feel yours is a lot slower than the one you test drove take it to the dealer as it might have something wrong.

I'm going to guess you and the original poster are from different countries.

98 RON is closer to american 93 R+M/2 so his 87 R+M/2 is probably about like your 92 RON.

Maybe you test drove with the Sport button on?
