R50/53 DIY Seat Pull Straps
DIY Seat Pull Straps
So, i found these on ebay... (lol)

http://www.ebay.com/itm/MINI-COOPER-REAR-SEAT-CARGO-AREA-PULL-STRAPS-/180859727649?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2a1c146f21&vxp=mtr
and, in the spirit of DIY and cheapness, i decided, hell, i can make those for way less $$!... so i did!
total cost: about $6, depending on what you have laying around
Tools:
Rivet Gun
Scissors
Lighter, soldering iron, or similar
Materials:
walmart: lashing straps from the boating section: $5
lowes: D-rings : $1
misc: rivets and washers

1. cut straps to a good length, enough to fall to the bottom of the seat, then add some more for a handle. use something Hot to seal the vinyl, to prevent fraying (i used a cauterizing tool, from the hospital, dad works there).
2. Make some holes for the D-Ring. Rivet in place using washers for a backing to prevent the rivets from sliding through the straps.

3. measure where you want your loop / handle to be. repeat step 2 for holes and rivets.

4. Do steps 1-4 again for the 2nd strap!

5. remove headrests on back seats, place the D-ring around the headrest post.

Whalah! you know have pull straps for your rear seats! Enjoy
