Best MINI Cooper Video....Ever
Best MINI Cooper Video....Ever
At least, according to me anyway
. This is without a doubt my best edited, shot, and overall favorite video. This video has GoPro clips, slow motion, panoramic shots, HD video, smooth slides, good music, and a well put together video! Please leave your feedback because I REALLY like this video! Oh, and I put some stripes on the bonnet and boot
. Thanks!

And I apologize. iMovie '09 only allows 240p quality for uploading for mobile devices and it looks like crap. I hope to somehow overcome this problem but am not sure I will be able to. Thanks for the trouble!
90 seconds is waaaay to looooong for the shot from the side of the car. Cut that down to maybe 15 seconds or so and add some variety. I also would suggest cutting out one exterior shot of the car at the beginning.
As budding videographers we tend to fall in love with our own camera work and we want to include too much. Less is more.
Nice footage, tighten it up if you can bring yourself to do it, and you'll have a more watchable, more interesting video.

Nice car and some cool scenery. I agree with the above though about the side car clip. Maybe ~15 seconds with the camera in various places around the car. I was surprised at all of the places I could get the gopro to stick with the suction cup. Next to the exhaust was pretty fun as well as in various places on the roof. Even putting it on the rear driver's window was cool because you could see partially in the car, too.
Shortly after getting my GoPro, I decided to invest in this book:
How to Shoot Video That Doesn't Suck: Advice to Make Any Amateur Look Like a Pro: Steve Stockman: 9780761163237: Amazon.com: Books
maybe a couple others as well. One of the tips I picked up was to cut to a new shot about every 2 seconds.
<-- probably what you are thinking. I gave it a try though and I'd say it has helped me create better videos. Every now and then I'll want to include something longer. I also find myself watching stuff on TV or the movies and there is a lot of stuff out there that sticks close to that "rule".
From watching lots of video I've learned that short shots and lots of shots are needed. The book also had some good tips on creating storylines to help drive the video and putting together a shot list. It really is an amazing field once you start digging into it a little bit.
