I bought a plastic key for $65 and another $65 for installation last summer. Ugh. It's ridiculous, but none the less, I would like a remote key now that I have some money. I don't want to spend $200 just so I can walk up to my car and click a button rather than do it standing next to it. Is there any tricks I can do to knock the price down. Can I program it myself? Can I order the key myself? And what do I NEED to buy from the dreaded MINI Dealer?
