Angry 212 countryman is it a lemon?

I purchased a 2012 countryman last May and have had it in the shop 3 times! In 8 months. One of the fixes took a month to do! Water leakage, broken motor in window, low gas mileage 320km per 47 liters! As of now they can't figure out where the excess water is and nothing is reading on the machine to show why it is getting such low mileage.
I live 100km from my mini dealer and it is a pain. At this point I am thinking of trading it in. I love the car, but I think I got a lemon!
Has Anyone else had major issues with their 2012 countryman? Has anyone ever dealt with a trade in on a lemon vehicle?

Can't speak towards water leakage or the low gas mileage, but broken motor in window should not be considered a major issue. I just got one replaced last week, under warranty. My guess is yours was covered too. Of the three cars I have owned, I am 3 for 3 on window motors needing to be replaced (1 Mini and 2 Jeeps).

Best of luck to you and your CM! Hope things get resolved so you don't need to part ways from it.

My '12 has been back to the dealer 5 times now. None of which have taken more than a day to fix. You would need to look at your local laws regarding Lemon Law. Every state/country will have different guidelines on what they consider just how many issues can cause your car to be a lemon.

that is not a lemon. laws very from state to state regarding lemons, but the basics of most is that the problem cannot be repaired after a reasonable number of attempts. how many attempts and how long varies from state to state however, and not all issues will cause a lemon to be declared (ie: the window motor. this is a very minor electrical issue, not a major mechanical one).

the window motor - things happen. they fixed it, move on. gas mileage - check your driving habits. that often has more to do with mileage than anything, especially if they can't find an error code and everything else checks out. as for the water leaking, well you don't say what the actual issue is so who knows. and what took a month for them to fix?

Sorry it has not been a PERFECT experance, but it does not sound crazy bad....not maybe Toyoda good, but not "i bought a lemon" bad ....
Is your interaction with the dealer or the distance maybe an issue? Difficulty in getting an appointment, or slow getting work done at a promised time?
A window motor seems to be a pretty minor issue....water leak a pain, but sounds like they found/fixed it...that leaves mpg....and in some areas, some drivers you just never get the epa numbers...i kinda suspect mpg is more driver depandant than anything....usually a motor that has an issue will throw a check engine code...i know i can get anywhere from 15 to 30 mpg on my older 2005 mini based upon driving style....what are you expecting from you car?
My gut says you feel you paid too much for it, and for what you get (experience wise) from driving it, you would rather have something else, and that is fine! But i would not worry about telling anybody you have a lemon....usually a lemon is defined as THE SAME issue, muliple times, or a fixed number of days on the lift...not waiting for an convient appointment or pickup, but start of work to end of work....so far from a lemon, even if the leak fix took a couple of visits.
Good luck, and i hope you enjoy your future car if you decide to move on!!

Could be worse. A lot of people think I got an orange.
