Well the time it has finally come, the ball joints on my Alta rear control arms have finally worn out after 7 years and 50,000 miles.


The question i have, does anyone have the specs on the ball joints so i can get replacements quick from McMaster Carr or some where???? i really dont want to have to buy 2 sets of control arms just because a couple ball joints are worn.

 

Have you contacted Alta?
When the CAT on my Alta header went out they provided me with the Magnaflow CAT
# they used, so I could replace the CAT with the same part originally supplied with the Alta header.

Tried calling Atla, but of course no one works on the weekends. shoot them a couple emails, but holding my breath as they never respond anyway. I was trying to get them on order before monday because i leave for Germany for 2 weeks. And shipping to me take 2 weeks at a minimal, and i have a track event the day after i get back. And ill still have to get the car over to the track shop for an alinement.

 

Aren't they more correctly called Heim joints?

 

Yes but most manufacturing company's like McMacter-Carr and others refer to them as ball joints.
