Semi-Newbie, Need Countryman JCW Help

Hello All,

I've done some searching, but I can't seem to find exact answers on particular questions. I could use some expert Mini help. I'm new to R60, but not Mini (had a 2003 MCS and a 2010 clubman S Auto with JCW ecu kit - HATED the auto).

In a perfect world, I would get a cosmic blue Countryman all4 JCW manual with gravity polar leather, but I can't. Apparently custom colors aren't available regardless of pleading and promising.

So I am considering either an S All4 with a JCW body kit and aftermarket ecu and other upgrades or a JCW true blue with black top. Frankly, I would prefer the "non-sport" suspension as this is a daily driver and I have a track car to rattle my teeth. I would also prefer the cosmic blue color. So +2 for the S.

However, I also like the imprimatur/rareness of a "real" JCW and lack of warranty issues with factory power and tune. +2 JCW

So, a few questions for the experts if you don't mind and have time:
1) is the All4 system the same on the S and JCW or is the torque split different? I don't want to get the S just to find out the All4 doesn't get rid of the torque steer.
2) what is the best combination of tune, intercooler and larger turbo that would provide equivalent, or more, HP than the JCW? (I know there are warranty issues, etc.) Is this available without sacrificing drivability?
3) what other features are unique to the JCW (I don't care about the brakes, and I actually don't want the sport suspension)?

While I don't want to be an economic idiot, I'm more inclined to try to get what I want (the color combo) than worry about resale (real JCW).

Thank you very much. I really appreciate the help.

Sorry for not directly answering any of your questions, but the suspension on the JCW is not rough. I feel it is tuned very well. You feel the road, but in no means is it jolting on the back or causes interior items to rattle when driving over every crack and bump. Personally, I would take suspension concerns off the table.

While I would desire a bit more power (who wouldn't if in balance), the power and responsiveness (especially in Sport mode) is good.

I have the Sport Suspension on my S ALL4 with 17" tire option; we find it comfortable on most roads. It is the same as the JCW suspension. However if you get it with 18" runflats, it may not be so nice. Just get normal tires if you go with wheels larger than 17".

The All4 system is the same for all models and does not have noticeable torque steer on my car.

Check into the countryman group on Facebook. Several members there have JCW and the administrator has his CM all tricked out and is on FB a lot more than here.
