Big Trucks; Big Winds

How does the roadster handle them while driving on the interstates?

Never had a problem. It's certainly no worse than any other small car.

I did about 3800mi. last summer on a Mountain West trip, leaving out of Chicago. As you can imagine, lots of interstate, high speeds, much of it two lane. The Roadster is low and relatively wide for it's size. I never had any issues, or felt that I was being pushed around by wind or turbulence from big rigs. In fact, unlike my previous R52, the R59 feels more planted at speed. Hope this helps.

Agree that the Roadster, with its small profile, feels much more "planted" than a big SUV when passing or being passed by a big rig.

One thing I've noticed, though, is that if I'm drafting the truck at just the right distance with my top down, I get perceptibly more turbulence inside the car. The car handles just fine, but I worry about losing my baseball cap.

No drafting here. I avoid big trucks like the plague...always trying to stay out of the rock chip zone. If I'm ready to pass one on the interstate, I hang back until I have a clear path ahead and then nail the throttle so I can get by as quickly as possible.

On two lane roads when I'm on the downwind side, if I pass a truck going in the opposite direction I'll slow down to minimize the impact of the wind "burble" (and its suspended sand and road grit) in the lee of the truck.

Yeah, I admit it. I'm OCMD. And trucks at highway speed are evil.
