One of the best value performance tires for the MNI is the Yokohama ES-100. a great all around performance tire. It is not a run-flat. I have enjoyed mine and have found that they perform very well, especially once they are warmed up. A good size for 17 " rims is 215/45/17 or 215/40/17. I prefer the 215/45/17 because it has a higher load rating and the 215/40/17 does not have quite the load rating specified by MINI>

If you have 16" wheels, the Falken Azeni is a great choice for street performance, but its wet weather traction is limited. There is not a good size Azeni tire made for 17's.
