I am throwing in the towel on my 2003 Mini Cooper base (71k miles) and turning my sights to fixing my 05 R52 S instead. The only thing wrong with the 2003 is the CVT transmission. I "thought" the trans jsut needed a seal on the input shaft, but found a small part of a tooth in the pan and can't see passing it on this way. It actually ran fine with fluid, never went dry, but the tooth sealed its fate.
I am just starting to part it out, and here is what I have for sale at the moment:

1.6L complete engine. THis engine has great compression and runs smooth and flawlessly. I would like $1200 out of the engine, but would take reasonable offers. I have it on fleabay, but reserve is high, would sell to member preferably. Engine comes with alternator, fuel injection and harness.

Dead CVT that can be used as a core. Perhaps this is a waste of time, but I have read folks need things like the valve body and other hard parts as well as it has about $500 as a core. I would like $350 out of it.

Both drive shafts. TheShafts have 71k on them, one (pass side inner boot) is split, I think I did this removing it, but that is a cheap repalcement. Like $75 for the pair, new ones are over 85 each as far as I can tell

ECU for the NA engine and CVT, would take $200 for it, maybe a little less

Front seats. They are the green interior I understand only came on the base model. They are in very good shape, the D/S shows a little wear on the leading edge like every one i have seen shows, no wear through at all. Like to get $200 out of them

Everything else is for sale. I will need to remove parts off this one to fix the 05, but everything less what I ahve to remove is up for grabs. Carpet, instruments, rear hatch, rear seats, doors, side windows, sunroofs, you name it. I will be using the front windshield in my 05 R52 (if it fits) and the airbag system (also provided it fits) and the D/S rear suspension. I'll probably keep the p/s pump cause they are so error prone. Let me know what you are intersted in. I am in wilmington NC. I can ship stuff within reason. Is the alternator available and do you know if it fits an 07 cooper? Mechanic said I needed the number on it. Already ordered one and it was the wrong alternator.

 

sorry, alternator went to texas with engine.
I am trying to close this becuase my father bought the entire car from me and we are building him an unbadged s out of it and a roll-over we have that is a 40k mile s. I'll probably post details as we progress. Thanks!
