Runflat and non runflat tires?

Is it okay to pair runflat tires with non-runflat tires at the same time...e.g. Runflats in the front, nonrunflats in the back or vice versa??

Its never good idea to run 2 different types of tires period. Mixing tire brands or even different models may cause handling instability.

it is never optimal but if $$ situation warrants or required it then as long as you keep 'em the same on an axle you're better off. (been there)

I've actually got one odd tire on a Honda right now. Weeks after replacing all 4, wife trashed a tire on a road trip and what I'd put on was gonna be a 2 day wait so she went with the best match they could find - same size of course and the tread pattern is pretty close - same speed rating etc.. I've kept it on the rear - been like that for a year with no ill effects. But yes, the suspension on a FIT is a lil more forgiving then the average MINI

**sidebar - she hit something in the road that put a large gash in the sidewall. No plug kit or goop was gonna help in this case. I wonder if the thicker sidewall of a runflat would have let the tire survive 'til the nearest tire shop but she'd have been in the same pickle I'd imagine - their not having the exact tire she needed. Fortunately she had a spare so she could continue to a tire shop rather than waiting for a AAA tow.
