MCS 2009 to JCW 2013?

My MCS 2009 is letting me down lately, Timing chain tensioner, Fuel pump & some stuffs knocked my wallet bigtime.

Planning to trade-in to JCW 2013. Is it a good move?

cuz it's N18 engine now. Some say they fixed most of the issues of the N14 engine.
My dealer gave me good offer. but not 100% sure spending alot of pennies again.

It's the same platform with some minor tweaks. I would not get your hopes up that buying a new R56 is going to make all the MINI quirks go away.

considering it will depreciate the value soon as the 3rd gen is on the way next year...

perhaps move with new platform

The 2014 3rd gen F56 won't include a JCW model right away, so the 2013 will be current for awhile. I"m gonna wait and see what the F56 is like before I trade.

We went from an 08 S with no problems to a 2012 JCW, and I'm wondering why we didn't do that sooner. Couldn't comment on the N18 though.

Wait, your timing chain wasn't covered by warranty?
Your high pressure fuel pump (HPFP) wasn't covered by recall?

Sounds like you need to read up on the active TSB's and get back to your dealer on having them replace the issues at no cost to you.
