Water Pump and Timing Chain change:

So before i get flamed to read all the other threads and search, i have, and i still cant get a definetive list on what specific parts i need to change the timing chain, tensioner, and water pump. I have the rattle expierenced with these R56's and i would like to sort it out sooner than later. I'm on numerous other forums and its easy to find a timing belt or chain kit for my tdi or Land Rover, but this its pretty brutal for such a talked about topic to get a list.

So i stopped by my local mini dealer to get a list of what i need, and they gave me this long list with a bunch of bolts and gaskets on top of this. Ive changed timing belts before and generally i dont change bolts and gaskets but i understand that was the stealers take on it.

My question is, What parts do i need, and what are the part numbers, i would like to get the new chain, and the tensioner, not the tensioner for the stretched chain, and i will also be changing the water pump while i am in there.

Can anyone help with that? Thanks! Photo of the parts list that mini gave.

I would go to Way Motor Works and buy their timing chain replacement kit for $399: http://www.waymotorworks.com/timing-...-cooper-s.html

and timing tool kit for $299: http://www.waymotorworks.com/timing-...7-r58-r60.html

and water pump for:$150 http://www.waymotorworks.com/water-p...8-r59-r60.html

Now, if I can only get Way to send me a commission!

I found the tool cheaper on amazon, $175:
Amazon Amazon

I guess the commission is gone for sure!

Please check that these are actually what you need!

I expect to do the same thing in the spring, so you should be able to sell the timing tool to recover some of the cost!

I was told the Timing tool kit was not required, and if you look, the sheet the dealer gave me was cheaper than that kit!

Thanks for posting the list; out of curiosity, what did the dealer quote you for a price to replace the chain & tensioners, etc??
