What Color is my mini?

Newbie here bought a used mini about 1 month ago and want to try dr. colorchip. The color code on the car is below.

a25/9
astro black metalic

The car was sold as black per the pink slip but the car is actually a dark metalic blue. I want to make sure I order the correct color touch up paint. See attached. Maybe this is technically astro black metalic?

Thanks!

Your color is Astro Black Metallic but don't let your colorchip expectation exceed colorchip's reality. The darker the color the more latitude but there's no such thing as a perfect touch up. Try it on a very small out of the way spot first. I've tried two products on Pure Silver and gave up.

Astro Black Metallic actually does have a "blue" look to it. I have seen it in person once and also have read discussions about it here. There might be an "Astro Black Metallic" thread somewhere on here. The dealer might still have touch up paint at the parts counter.

did you look at the label they put on the car?

Having played with auto paint ...

I have seen the formula for one 'color' change multiple times in a year.

when you look up this color on 'professional' sites they will list 'all' the formulas and suggest doing a color chip test. Take a chip (from the book) to the car in sunlight . . .
