Cant you just remove the bolts that hold it together?

im not sure. my mechanic says that to install the non oem 16% pulley you NEED the NON oem removal tool and if he buys it it'll cost me an extra $150 and to rent it's $180.

Whats the reason youre wanting to remove ir? I know aftermarket pulleys have the bolts pressing them together. I always figured it would take merely a slight bit of coaxing with the bolts removed for them to come off.
