That is pretty cool for $49. I may get it. I've been thinking about updating my V1 for a while, so I may do them both at the same time.

BTW, I love that they came up with the Android version first! Haha.

I've been using it for a couple days. Displays multiple bogeys at their frequency point in the range. Interesting to see where they are in the freq range, and I hope they will help visually discriminate as I learn how to identify them. Bluetooth connected easily with my Droid Maxx HD and it seems to be fast.

One downside is that the phone has to be oriented vertically, not in landscape. If you have a fixed landscape mount, you won't like it.

On the plus side, there is a button on the display that lets you set the detector to stealth mode for those that always wanted the separate concealed display.

It also seems like it will be used on trips, but not so much in run-around errands.

When you get in your car with your phone does the app come up automatically, or do you have to bring it up? Thanks .

The app does not start automatically. You have to initiate the app.

There are a few annoyances that I hope will be resolved in future software updates. For example, if you get a phone call, it closes the V1 app and goes to the phone call, so you lose the V1 during a call, and you have to start it back up afterward.

Also, the V1 has to be on before you start the app. If I stop for gas and shut the car off, my V1 goes off and the app loses connection and doesn't recover once the car is started back up, so you have to close and restart the app.

My Droid Maxx HD has "SmartActions" that automatically run when bluetooth is connected (safe driving features) and I had to shut those off because they stomped on the V1 app as well.

I hope the app will improve over time. After using it a full week, I think it's not quite a "gotta have it" accessory and more of a "that's a cool thing" accessory.

Thanks for the reply. My current phone does not support the app so maybe I'll wait awhile for the improvements before I decide I have to have it.

If you hardwire the V1 to the overhead console and use the power up there it take like 20 minutes to shut off completely so the detector won't power down in a gas station or store stop.
