Super curious if this would work in a 2007 mini cooper s r56. I plan to replace the timing chain and also replace the clutch. Going Os Giken for that.

says it work on Peugeots and I know the R56 uses the same engine except for BMWs Vanos System.....any ideas?

 

Oh boy this looks sketchy. If you're not using BMW special tool take a look at Koch tools.

They list the timing tool as for N12 but I'm curious if the locking method is any different for the N14. It might be worth giving Way @ Way Motor Works or Chad @ Detroit Tuned a call about what they have used.

 

That is not the tool kit you need for the timing chain on the MINI.

This is the correct tool kit, compare the pics you'll see they are way different.

I've looked at that kit but $300 is a lot for a tool. I know it's the special tool. I have found a couple different kits that just have the tools to do the n14 and not both the n12 and n14 for about half the price. I will be ordering the timing chain kit and the os giken clutch kit from you guys at ways. Plan to do it in the short future. Do you guys carry the gt1cd(believe its the "hard" pressure plate)?
