Are these tail lights plug and play replacements? We currently have the the ones with the orange center.

 

No LCI R56 lights wont work with pre-lci.

NewMINIStuff has a thread up on a european forum regarding this swap. Apparently you need to run new wiring and resistors to make this swap work.

I've been wanting to do this mod, most likely I'm going to jump into it in a few weeks. Luckily my car has rear fogs, so it'll make things a lot easier.
