I own an 07S with 93K miles. I have had to put at least 3K dollars into it this year for reapirs: Timing Chain, Carbon Build Up problem, Valve cover and plastic hose that attaches, and there is still a leak. Dealer is telling me in order to eliminate leaks the vaum pump, and turbo oil line will have to be replaced (another $1500) My question is : is this car worth keepig as it is nearly paid for and or can I anticipate more problems with this year model. I am not used to putting this kind of money into a car.

Second, was the leak caused by the repairs, or did the car go in for a vacuum repair and it was never completed?
Sounds like the repairing dealer isn't being straight with you.
The oil line can be sourced from an aftermarket supplier (like WayMotorWorks) and it a superior replacement.
Exactly what are you used to? Yes, you're getting some of the high-priced items, but if you're taking good preventative step in caring for the vehicle, this should be the last of high-cost repairs for quite some time.

I feel bad for you. I hope it works out.
I'm so glad I couldn't/didn't get the S.
The only non scheduled maintenance repair I have had so
far is replacement of the valve cover gasket (did myself, $50).
112k miles.
If you do get rid of it don't knock the entire brand. It's the early
S models that seem to be really hit or miss.

Well first, the oil line has NOTHING to do with engine vacuum.
Second, was the leak caused by the repairs, or did the car go in for a vacuum repair and it was never completed?

You've tackled the large ticket items like the timing chain, valve cover, and such.

Thx for getting back to me. I took the car in for an oil leak and they told me it would be about 3k to fix all the "most likely" problems
they mentioned the valve cover gasket, new plastic hose for sure at this was blowing oil all over the engine
second they suggested replacing the oil line for the turbo and third the vacum pump.
I opted to take the advice and fix the major problem first as i dont hav 3K nor do I trust them at this point
I am used to Hondas, acuras (this is my wifes car) so I was shocked to have all this hit in one year
my plan is to pick it up Monday and take it to Way Motor works and let him look at it. I am on the hook for the 1K They saw it took to fix the main oil leak
your thoughts sir?
It seems to me if there was oil all over the engine bay, it would be easy to spot the source point.
The vacuum pump, unless there's a crack in the casing, doesn't deal with oil management.
Yes, there's oil circulating in the vacuum pump bearings, but again, the casing / housing would needed to be cracked to leak.
Is the turbocharger oil line leaking? That's an obvious one to spot check.
Have him show you physically what's going on with the vehicle, allow the assessment and go forth accordingly.

And you agreed to those terms, without them knowing the full extent of the direct source?
Did you have them directly point this out to you?

Again, under what cause?

What did the "major problem" points entail?
If you're used to the JDM maintenance plan, then yes, owning a German / English vehicle will be a shock to your wallet.
Sounds like a spot-on plan; Way shoots its straight to clients and provides a good one-on-one walk through.

I agreed only to the replacement of the Valve cover gasket and new hose
along with the gasket for the timing chain tensioner. As they told me this was the major problem. will follow up with you after i speak with them today. Thx for taking some time to follow up with me
are you a mini mechanic?
You're welcome; good luck.
No, but sometimes I'm convinced that I know more than some of the dealer technicians at times.
