I recently switched from an iPhone 4S to a Samsung Galaxy S3 and to my dismay the Samsung no longer played music/navigation app through the radio.

I searched online and found lots of posts that said it was not possible to connect an android phone to the Mini (particularly without Mini Connect).

I kept searching and came across the i Bolt holster at http://www.ibolt.co

The holster has a y-cable that had aux and usb. I ordered it and it came today. And it works!! It plays through the radio, both music and navigation, with no static. It also pauses when receiving phone calls through the Bluetooth. The only downside is that you cannot change songs through the steering wheel controls or the radio, but you can control the volume. Oh and the cable does not work independent of the holster.

But all in all I'm happy. And it is definitely a viable alternative for Samsung Galaxy owners.

How do you like the G III compared to the iPhone? That is a switch I have thought about. One concern I have is music and iTunes. How do you access and organize your music now? I assume the Samsung does not connect to iTunes and use its playlists / download music from it.

Also all my family members are iPhone uses. Obviously you can users FaceTime anymore or iMessage anymore right?

I love the Android but making the switch was a real pain. I tried using several apps that are supposed to let Android communicate with iTunes but nothing worked. So I ended up having to download a conversion tool to convert my entire iTunes library to mp3 files. It took quite a long time. But now that all is done, I am extremely happy with the switch and have no regrets.

And yes no Facetime or iMessage. But most of the apps on iPhone are also on Android.
