Complete Interior re-do (I mean it)
Hi, here's the problem: I love my Mini, but I hate my Mini. I'll explain: I'm 6'4", 230 pounds. I'm a big guy, but I'm not a BIG guy and I feel very uncomfortable inside the Mini, everything feels like it's in a slightly smaller proportion.
With that in mind, I was wondering if you could help me find the steps necessary to convert a stock Mini to a center-drive system like on a McLaren F1 or like this guy did with a Porsche:

That sounds like A LOT of work...I'm 6'1 190 and I don't even have my seat all the way back and I'm more leg than torso. I find it hard to believe that you'd find it so uncomfortable to prompt you to undertake this sort of a project.
That being said, I do think this is an interesting concept and would like to see it done, but this seems like one big pain in the *** just because you have trouble getting comfortable.

Anything can be done with enough money, but MINI would not be a wise place to start.
While the car is designed and build with both right and left hand drive, my guess that would make the middle almost impossible.
Also reading the attached link:
The conversion took over 4,000 hours of work. “Man, everything interacts with everything else,” Bayliff told Wired. “We’ve had it assembled and disassembled about 30 times. It would’ve been easier to build a car from scratch.”
The cost would be more than any MINI is worth.
I'm 6'3" and about 200 lbs. While the MINI fits fine for me it won't for everyone.
If you really don't fit, there is not a lot that can be done beyond seat change.

Anything is possible with enough money AND time plus commitment.
If any of those lacks, it is unlikely any project will leave the drawing board into reality.
If you had to ask about this type of modification I am assuming you won't be DIY and expect professional result. Right? It is not a DIY project that is done over a weekend.
