Inside door plastic cover

I went to put fatmat in my doors.

I took off the facia part (covers speakers) and popped
off the armrest.

Then removed about 15 big bolts. I could not get the
heavy plastic part that is on the door to pry off.

Is there a trick?

Just to be sure I'm understanding what you are asking, can you post a picture?

If you are talking about removing the door/window carrier, that is a bit tricky. In my opinion/experience, sound deadening/dampening on the outer door skin isn't worth the trouble of removing that carrier. If you are applying in that area, you might want to just do the area you can access through the speaker cutout.

Thank you. Yes, that is the cover I am talking about.

My original aim was not to make the sound better but to
reduce the road noise on the car (I have been doing this on
all our vehicles and have really gotten used to the way
it sounds).

But I guess I'll just put some where I can gain access from the
large speaker.

Thank you for letting me know it is super hard.
