Toyo has a Proxes RA-1 "autocross" tire that appears to be about right for the MC. Its in 205-55-16

Anyone tried it?

I've run Toyo RA1s on a miata. They're a little slower than a Kumho Victoracer and a little more money. They do last a little longer than the Victoracers and maintain their performance through multilple heat cylces better than the Victoracer.

since the Victoracers aren't available for the MINI, wonder how they compare with the Ecstas?

 

I've run Ecstas and Victoracers, but never on the same car. My gut feeling is the Ecstas are incrementally faster than the Victo's and a fair bit quicker than the Toyos. But the Toyo's advantage in service-life over the Ecsta is substantial.
