2012 Huntsville Christmas Parade
Rocket City MINIs will be in the Waay TV Christmas Parade Saturday, December 1st at 12pm!
For any MINIs wanting to join in, this coming Saturday November 17th will be a meet and greet to talk about the Christmas parade, go over the rules, meet up time and answer any questions you have. Will meet at the SONIC on the corner of Jordan lane and University Dr. at 12pm

Here are the details about the parade:

Here are the details about the parade:
- This is a huge parade that is televised and begins at noon December 1st.
- They have a lineup parking lot on the corner of Clinton Ave and Woodson St. The lot opens at 9 am but they cut off all cars entering at 11. So if you get there past 11 they will not let you participate. We will probably line up around 10 and start decorating.
- The theme for the parade this year is the movie "A Christmas Story". Some people do just do "Christmas" decorations but we are trying to stay with the theme. So far people are decorating their mini like:
- - A giant Leg Lamp on the roof
- - A pink bunny suit wrapped around car with ears, nose, tail, etc.
- - A giant flag pole coming out of MINI with the kid's tongue stuck to it (mine)
- - The others at the meeting were going to watch the movie and try to come up with ideas. Some people mentioned maybe making their MINI a big Fragile box and no one has mentioned a Red Rider BB gun on the MINI somewhere.
- All the Parade is using this theme, not just us.
- I have a page or rules I will scan in and add to the site but its mainly don't be stupid, your float can't be higher than 15ft' due to clearance, and no throwing anything even candy :(
- Oh and NO ONE can be dressed as Santa except the main last float. But Mrs. Claus is fine lol

Ok here is my idea for my car; A big bar of soap on the roof and "curse words" written on the windows (as in #%*#$&$ @&!?$). I figured my long, flat roof on the Clubman would fit the soap well. I have no idea how I'm going to tackle the soap yet but that's where Google and YouTube come in.
As for Dena, she's not very interested but I'm trying to talk her into coming. My idea for her Countryman is to have a big pair of glasses with a cracked lens on her bonnet and some icicle lights strung around the top. That idea is definitely up for grabs since she may not come.
I'll let you know if plans change but I'm definitely coming as of now and I'm pumped!
