R60 Tire Jack
Tire Jack
I'm trying to figure out if I need to keep the tire jack in my Mini at all times or if I could leave it at the house until I need it.
I have run flats and of course, no spare, so I can't think of a reason to need it in an emergency.... can anyone else help me figure out if I would be foolish to leave it at home?
thanks!

If you slime or patch your tire and then try to inflate with a portable compressor having the weight of the car off will make everything go a little smoother. Other than that I guess you could make more room for the flux capacitor by removing it.

One of the first things I did with our Countryman was remove the jack and store it in the garage. Really couldn't see any reason to keep it in there eating up space when there is no spare. I do carry a compressor and do intend to replace the run flats when time comes for new ones, but will probably continue to carry the compressor and a can of slime or " fix a flat".
I would keep it in the car. If you have a flat on one front, and a long way to go to get service, I would switch the flat to the rear on the same side using the tools. I think it is safer to have two good tires on the steering end.
I also carry a space-saver spare for trips in areas very remote from service.
