07 Cooper S

I saw an 'O7 Cooper S automatic on a local lot that I may look at. Do they have the nice pop and burble?
Anything specific about the model/year I should look for?

Thank You

The 07-10 do not have the pop and burble your looking for unfortunately. If your looking for a used Cooper S then look into an 09-10 I heard those N14 engines were pretty solid. If your looking for the pop and burble you need to look for a 2011. Good luck on your search.

Yea, there's a few things you should look out for

1) check when the last time carbon build has been cleaned
2) check if the timing chain has been serviced
3) check if the oil feed line to turbo is loose or leaking

I definitely agree as well for a 2007 MCS.
Also look at the windshield for pitting or tiny little dents on the glass as well. Mines has lots (it looks like someone took a sandblaster to mine)

Good Luck cWade!

Biggest concerns have been noted above. See if you can take the VIN to a local MINI dealer to figure out the warranty work. The timing chain is a really big deal, you can search here for 'death rattle'. Don't forget the high pressure fuel pump and water pump recall.
