Need Help

Ok so i take my 2008 MCS to the Dealership to get the sunroof worked on (it sticks when trying to open) well for the 5th time they fixed it, while the Mini was there they replaced the Timing chain, and did the recalls for the auxiliary water pump for the turbo, ever since the Mini has been using coolant i filled it back up and it was ok, this morning on my way to work the mini reached temperatures of 276+ i coasted and it went down then when i got on the gas the temp would rise again, i called the dealership and they said it had nothing to do with all the work they did to the mini. anyone have any input i would appreciate it. thank you

Sounds like air in the cooling system. Did they drain the coolant when they did the work?

Well, "using coolant" sure isn't good. There's obviously a leak somewhere. I don't know what is involved with replacing the pump for the turbo, but it sounds like that's the only part of the cooling system that they touched.

276F is way, way too hot.

If I had done the work, I would suspect everything that I had touched, especially if this started happening right after I did the work. I would ask if they could double-check everything, and to keep in mind anything that they could have done without meaning to. I remember a number of times where I've bumped a wire and unplugged it, or kinked a hose and plugged it, without realizing.
