Speed limit on that road is 70 mph. Story says airbags did not deploy. Looks like a Clubman to me. But it is a Mini, just not sure which. Sad story, anyway.

 

Yes that does appear to be a Clubman by the ridges down each side of the roof.
I'm sorry for the family and the students, that should look into weather the air bags deployed or not.

 

Yes it was a R55 S. I cannot understand why the airbags didn't go off, that may be the reason for the fatality. I will agree it was a crappy wreck but the cabin's integrity was hardly compromised. The A-pillar did become more vertical, but the car took the brunt of the force and he shouldn't have died if I am playing an arm-chair critic.

Thoughts and prayers go out to his family and students...

 

That is horrible. I can't imagine what the family is going through. I hope an investigation goes into the airbags.
