Convertible top replacement story

So I took my 2009 MC Cabrio in to the dealer have them take a look at the plastic trim piece that runs across the middle of the top (above the front seats) because one side of the trim broke and is now out of alignment.

I also brought to their attention a few threads that had popped on the right rear corner of the top. Since the car is still under warranty I was hoping they could just repair it so it wouldn't have any issues moving forward.

Got a call a couple hours after dropping it off that they ordered a new top.

No real point to the story but thought it was interesting how quick they were to just replace the top. And glad I mentioned it.

I have a similar story. I just bought my '09 (still 11 months of warranty left) and I complained that once in a while the top wouldn't go all the way down and lock. They called me a little while later and said they were going to just replace the whole top. Wonder if there was some sort of internal recall...

Anyway, the new top works flawlessly (and looks and feels brand new!)

I wish my dealer would be so responsive. I've pointed out the wear spots on the top on both sides right above where the front and back side windows meet. They say that's normal, which it may be, but normal doesn't mean right.

Got my car back today. Looks great. No top down for 48-72 hrs to let it stretch out which sucks because it is supposed to be sunny low 70's this weekend. Was a little sad giving back my loaner. It was an S hardtop. Dang the S is an awesome ride. So quick.

Wow! You're lucky. They told me no top "downing" for 2 weeks after my top replacement. It was a LONG 2 weeks.
